Ecotone promotes marketing boss to UK CEO

Ecotone has promoted chief marketing officer Bryan Martins to UK CEO, as recently departed chief executive Emma Vass was poached by dessert company Gü.

Martins’ new role as CEO comes six years after joining the food company, having started out as marketing director, before becoming chief marketing officer in September 2022.

Over the past two years, he developed growth in core categories and innovation across its European portfolio, including Clipper Teas, according to Ecotone.

He also spent over eight years at Danone Dairy, holding roles such as marketing director.

Martins said: “I’m excited for this new opportunity within the Group and completely energised for this mission ahead of us to accelerate our growth and impact on the food industry.

“Ecotone UK is brilliantly positioned for future growth and we will continue to lead the charge to inspire people towards sustainable, healthy food through our fantastic brands.

“2025 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for all our brands – particularly Clipper Teas which is already the fastest-growing everyday tea brand, and Kallø which is at the forefront of innovation across multiple categories including snacks, stocks and cereals.”

Ecotone Group CEO Christophe Barnouin added: “We are excited to welcome Bryan to the role of UK CEO for Ecotone. His tenacity, commercial insight and creativity make him the ideal candidate to drive the UK business forward.”

The new appointment comes as earlier this week, Vass announced her decision to join Gü Desserts as its new chief executive, after seven years at Ecotone.
